COMMUNITY
Skills Street will be a fantastic resource for the local community.
Working together with organisations including Youth Clubs, Community Development organisations and the Job Centre we’ll be able to host special events for people from across the community who are looking to develop new skills.
This will be an ideal place for everyone from mums returning to the workplace, or STEM groups and after school clubs to locate and make the most of the expertise that will be on hand, all under one roof.
The space will be versatile and we’re keen to explore becoming home to a range of community groups from music jamming sessions to photographic groups and from wellbeing meetings to coding clubs.
Skills Street will be a place to spark community conversation and be the catalyst for improving the skills of the residents in the local area.
The Skills Street building will lend itself to host community activities and will also be a welcome addition to the space for hire market in the local area. Mother and toddler groups, parent and child activities, evening classes and meeting spaces will all be able to take place at this new purpose-built venue.
“With Skills Street the South Yorkshire region will be leading the way with training. Working in partnership with The Work-wise Foundation and the team at Gulliver’s Valley we’ll be able to deliver training in a new and exciting way. Visitors to Skills Street will learn by experiencing and will be able to develop their skills in an interactive environment enhanced by businesses from a range of sectors.”
- Trish Smith, Director, Skills Street CIC
