What is Skills Street?
Skills Street is an immersive skills and careers-based education centre, designed to help young people explore the world of work and develop the skills they need to thrive.
Co-created by employer partners and educators, Skills Street brings real industries to life for learners from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 5 and beyond. Through hands-on, interactive experiences, students gain insight into different sectors, build confidence and employability skills and begin to understand the pathways available to them.
All sessions are:
Aligned to the relevant Key Stage
Mapped to the Gatsby Benchmarks
Support QCS and Matrix Standards
Future-focused and aligned to the 2028 curriculum
During a full-day visit, students take part in:
Four 45-minute immersive sessions within employer-designed sector zones which are tailored to each visit
A dedicated careers talk linking learning to future opportunities
Skills Street has more than just educational visits, we are also open to the community!

As a Community Interest Company, we work with employers to raise the visibility of industry, showcase career pathways and help develop the future workforce.
Meeting Spaces are available to book at Skills Street. We have spaces available to cater for small and large groups.
Skills Street will…
From primary age upwards children will be able to experience the wonderful world of work in a fun and interactive way through business-driven role play attractions.
Individuals and families will be able explore the great opportunities for careers and training in the region in a relaxed and informal careers community café.
A creative environment will allow careers training to flourish at all levels from school leavers to business leaders in the leadership academy through to returners to work.
Young people will be shown the amazing career opportunities available in the South Yorkshire area. This will be delivered by a team of edutainers who will bring the opportunities to life and showcase the variety of careers on offer.
