The Princess Royal hears plans for Skills Street!
Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal visited Skills Street Partner E.ON’s Blackburn Meadows site last week to hear expansion plans for a renewable energy network and a commitment to support for skills training across South Yorkshire.
The Princess Royal was given a tour of the E.ON site with our Business Development Manager James Beighton and paid particular focus on support for Skills Street as a Community Interest Company , bringing industry led learning to the next generation workforce. E.ON’s Skills Street learning zone will help to develop skills from early years and primary stages into secondary, further and higher education.
Our partnership with E.ON will help contextualise classroom learning with careers education – focusing on engineering and technical skillsets as well as the link and importance of green careers and climate action.
Sharing his thoughts on our E.ON partnership, James said: “I am delighted to be working with E.ON as our latest Skills Investor partner. We operate in a region where manufacturing and industrial heritage is our identity. We have a unique opportunity here to inspire a workforce that will secure our future on so many fronts. A perfect example of immediate and localised skills needs meeting national priorities across a crucial industry sector for our national economy”.
